What You'll Do
The Systems Engineer (SE) is a customer-focused technical sales professional who provides high-level technical support and guidance to customers.
* He/she collaborates with the Account Manager to recommend and develop appropriate customer solution offerings for Cisco SP accounts.
* The account SE provides an architectural perspective across the Cisco product portfolio and can leverage his / her technical specialization for specific opportunities.
* The technical specialist SE acts in an increasingly consultative fashion and is looked to as an expert, or trusted technical advisor, in his / her field by the account team and customer.

Who You Are
- Typically requires BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent
- 5+ years related technical sales industry experience
- Fluent in English and Spanish languages.
- Previous experience in similar role.
Top skill set required:
Very good CMTS knowledge
Very good knowledge of service group engineering and HFC networks.
Must have knowledge of CCAP platforms and building blocks.
Must be familiar with Video and Data networks within the Cable and internet service provider environment
Knowledge and understanding of IP routing
Knowledge and understanding of HFC networks, both Inside and Outside plant architecture within cable and internet service provider environments
Understanding of both physical and logical aspects of CMTS’ and the integration into active HFC networks
Physical Installation of CMTS and supporting edge equipment within an HFC network
Migration and integration of constructed and tested Data Edge equipment into existing “live” networks
Ability and knowledge to conduct Quality Assurance and Control of recently constructed Data Edge Network equipment, with attention to adherence to design and technical requirements
Must have knowledge of RF and optical test equipment (Signal Level Meters, Optical Spectrum Analyzers, Optical scopes, OTDR’s, Optical Power Meters.
Complete understanding of FTTH, WDM and DWDM network architectures
Accountable for understanding and evaluating network engineering design requirements and documents
Support outside plant network install, cabling and headend connectivity. Proficient in headend to node upstream and downstream optical and RF optimizations
Knowledge of legacy cable video systems and architectures .
Broadcasting specific knowledge:
Competent understanding of satellite transmission components for broadcast of SD/HD digital video signals
Technical experience to include encoders, receivers, production switchers, graphic systems, audio equipment, routers, monitors and display systems and video encoding equipment.
Statistical muxultiplexing encoding systems/multiplexing
Video distribution via Multicast or Video Over IP
Understanding of RF carrier parameters such as modulation, FEC, symbol rates, etc.
Basic understanding of terrestrial fiber infrastructure.
Technical role within a DTH, CATV or IPTV headend environment
Satellite Industry Standards (DVB, MPEG, SMPTE, ETR.101.290)
o Transmitters (TWT Amps/SSPA/HPA)
o Video Encoding, MPEG2/MPEG4/AVC
o SD/HD-SDI sSignal processing
o General networking knowledge to include subnets and IGMP V2 and V3
