Supervise a breeding program with the objective of developing improved Soybean varieties for the Temperate region of Argentina, with focus on agronomic traits such as yield, standability and disease tolerance.
Align breeding objectives and selection standards to meet product needs.
Develop a deep knowledge of inbred lines in the region to provide meaningful insight, and leverage the use of global germplasm.
Drive the implementation of new technologies that enable greater genetic gain, including industry leading genome-wide selection, predictive analytics, and the latest marker-assisted breeding tools.
Analyze and present data across locations and seasons of testing necessary for hybrid advancement meetings.
Develop comprehensive variety profiles for internal and external customers.
Manage the program budget foreseeing all possible gaps preventively.
PhD in Plant Breeding or related field of study.
Strong background in plant breeding, genetics, experimental design and statistical analysis, molecular biology and marker-assisted breeding tools.
Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
Leadership skills to represent LAS Corn Breeding in local and international teams.
Prior experience managing people and projects in agricultural research field.
Effective verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
